General characteristics of Fine Tuning Coextrusion Crossheads Series
This series is developed to work in single layer as well as in coextrusion mode.
The head can be equipped with the Fine Tuning System, instead of a self-centering distributor. This system allows a fine adjustment of the cable centering, achieving high concentricity.
The FT System works with a tip holder movement, by means of 4 scaled screws on the rear. It is possible to switch from FT to centering system at any time, during the cable production, by means of a nut on the rear of the head.
The flow distributor is designed with special shape, high conicity and consequently with bigger diameter in corrispondence of the material inlet, ensuring:
- an easy distributor extraction;
- a high concentricity in fixed centering;
- a lower pushing force of the compound then lower macro-molecular overheating;
- a lower working back pressure then higher production speed in according with compound characteristics.
The channels of the flow distributors are developed according to rheological and processual parameters (theorical and empirical) of the compound to be processed. This guarantees lower back pressure and consequentely higher production speed, no material overheating, no material stagnation.
Totally made of hardened stainless steel with a treatment/coating to get a hardness higher than 1200 HV, in order to in order to ensure a lower friction coefficient between compound and head, performing the compound flow and ensuring a longer head lifetime: this allows to tackle the increasing of the loaded compound viscosity and the production needs.
