General characteristics of Front / Rear Manual Centering Coextrusion Crossheads Series
ECMR series can be mono or coestrusion crosshead, with front or rear manual centering system. The coextrusion model allows to work also in monoextrusion mode.
The crosshead can process the most common compounds. Furthermore, it can process high-viscosity compounds (including those following CPR) at the lowest back pressure, avoiding material overheating and with shorter crossing/residence time.
The centering works:
- from front by means of die movement;
- from rear by means of spherical tip holder movement (Fine Tuning System).
The distance between tip and die (gum space) can be adjusted by means of:
- an axial movement of the die by the die nut position from front;
- an axial movement of the tip holder from rear (on request).
The head is heated by means of rod or band heaters.
Treatment/coating to ensure a hardness higher than 1200 HV available, in order to ensure a lower friction coefficient between compound and head, performing the compound flow and ensuring a longer head lifetime: this allows to tackle the increasing of the loaded compound viscosity and the production needs.
