Eurotek’s new ECMR10_DS double layer extrusion head is meant to be used in the metal wire industry for the production of rockfall defense, ground support and reinforcement, and safety and noise barriers
Two materials can be extruded onto the steel wire using the ECMR10_DS: the first, extremely thin layer, which is about 0.1 mm thick, acts as an adhesive to improve the adherence of the second, around 0.4 mm thick layer of HDPE to the metal wire.
This extrusion head enables us to precisely regulate the “gum space” of each layer, to control the thickness of the material to be applied.
Thanks to our flow simulation software, we were able to design the ideal distributors to:
- Prevent material stagnation
- Provide pressure control during extrusion
- The flow’s optimal concentricity
